Basics of Sewing

Have you always wanted to learn to sew?  Or maybe need a refresher class to boost your confidence.  Sew this great project bag while learning everything you need to know to get started.  

This class covers all the basics!!

  • Learn all the parts of a sewing machine and what they do
  • How to thread a machine and wind the bobbin
  • The basic sewing and pressing tools you need to get started
  • How to straight stitch, top stitch, back stitch, and turn corners
  • Simple pressing techniques
  • and more….!!

Choose the color of fabric kit in class.   The fabric is pre-cut so you can get right into sewing.  The supplies cost is included in the class tuition.

Level: Beginner

Session Dates: 

Session 1 – Saturdays, January 25 and February 1, 10am-12pm

Session 2 – Tuesdays, January 28 and February 4, 11am-1pm

Session 3 – Thursdays, February 6 and February 13, 1pm-3pm

Session Length:  Two, 2-hour classes

We are located at on the South Shore of Boston, Massachusetts at 376 Washington Street, Norwell, MA 02061. We are around back inside the Yarn’s End shop.

All materials and supplies are provided for this class.  The fabric is pre-cut so you can get right to sewing.  The cost of supplies is included in the class tuition.

The class fee also includes the use of studio equipment and tools.  If you prefer to work on your own sewing machine, you are welcome to bring it.  Please arrive 15 mins early in order to allow time to set up your machine.

While we cannot guarantee that each student will complete their project, the majority of students do.
